“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…He shall direct your paths…”

Proverbs 3:5,6

Ok, I’ll apologize now if your’e thinking this simple little blog will tell you what to do next with your life. That decision you need to make. The relationship you need to or need not to pursue, the job opportunity you need to know what to do with…unfortunately cannot be answered by reading this little blog.

I do hope to help you, however, in getting to a place where you will know what to do next.

I think we all reach places in our lives when we ask ourselves this question, “What Next?” And let’s face it; decisions are hard to make sometimes, especially the big ones because they can alter our lives forever. So obviously we want to make the right choice. We don’t want to look back in life with regret of the wrong choices we’ve made. We want to know that we made the right call.

Here are a few things to take in to consideration:

Counsel from leaders/friends/Pastors – I think it’s always good to share your opportunities with people in your life that are mentors or individuals whose opinions you trust.

Following your own heart – Taking some time alone and writing down the pros and cons of the decisions are good tips to consider as well.

But I must say here that even though friends and mentors are good to listen to and following your own heart concerning these choices can be beneficial, these things can still lead you down a wrong path….if that is all you consider.

I think you should take advantage of your mentors and also write down the pros and cons, but the very best thing you can do is communicate with God about what’s next in your life.

I’m a firm believer that prayer and reading the Bible, which is communicating and drawing closer to God, is the best resource for finding out what is next in your life. While you are learning more about God, I feel you will eventually get your answers.

Combine the connecting with the right people in your life and listening to your heart with communicating to God through prayer and reading Scripture, and I truly believe your answers are not very far off.

In closing, it is very important to know that God promises to direct your paths. He will tell you where to go and what to do next in your life. The easy thing to do, whether we think it is or not, is to simply let Him lead us. Many other “voices” get in the way, but discipline yourself to listen to His voice and your will find what’s next in your life!

Prayer- God I thank you for people that bring good advice and wisdom to my life. And I think you for the knowledge you’ve given me to be able to consider the pros and cons in my decision making. But most importantly, I thank you that if I put my trust in you and talk to you about the crossroads seasons in my life, and I learn more about you in your Word, that you will direct my path. I’m asking you to do that today. In Jesus’ name ~Amen
